Your Timestamped Itinerary for a Cozy Night In

No plans for the night? Good. Keep it that way.
This is your permission to stay in, romanticize your life, and reset your entire mood after a long week of work and dealing with children. This the exact timestamped routine I follow when I’m stressed and over-worked and need to regulate my nervous system.
Save this for your next night in.
6:00 PM - The Ritual Begins
Stop at the store on your way home and pick up a few essentials:
your comfort meal ingredients
a bottle of wine (or mocktail)
your favorite snacks (cheese, crackers, olive, chocolate, fruit - something indulgent)
bubble bath —> LOVE THIS ONE!
This is where the night really starts. There’s something about intentionally choosing your evening that makes it feel cozy and different.
7:00 PM - Set the Mood
Unpack your groceries. Pour yourself a glass of wine. It’s now time for your bubble bath! Light your favorite candle in your bathroom and let the scent fill the room. I personally love turning all the lights off and having just candle light (it’s so cozy). Turn on a soft playlist. Maybe even make a small snack plate! This is your time to unwind and relax.
Here are my go-to bath essentials for the best experience:
Bath pillow (it’s so nice to lean back)
Bath jet (OMG - it makes your bath a jacuzzi!)
Bath tray (to hole your wine and snack plate)
Body lotion for when out the shower. I love this smell!
8:00 PM - Cozy Cooking
Once out the shower, put on a matching set of pajamas (my favorite at the moment), and brush and dry your hair. On nights like this, I love a good matching pajama set to help me feel more elegant and put together. Now head to the kitchen/living room and pick a comfort movie to put in the background. Here are some recommendations:
Pride and Prejudice (need I say more?)
Pretty Woman (because we are manifesting a rich husband)
It’s Complicated (great for a Nancy Meyers vibe)
Dracula: A Love Tale (LOOOVVEE)
Wuthering Heights (I was a fan!)
13 Going on 30 (for some feel-good vibes)
Bridesmaids (if you want to laugh your ass off)
Legally blonde (if you want to feel empowered)
Practical Magic (perfect for a fall night)
Go ahead and pour you another (or possibly two more) glasses of wine and begin cooking your dinner. I am not a “big light” person, so I love to light candles and turn on lamps for this process. Enjoy the process.
Once dinner is ready, finish watching your movie while you eat your delicious comfort meal.
10:00 PM - Reset Your Space & Skincare
After you’ve finished dinner, take a few quiet minutes to reset your space. Not a deep clean, but clean your dishes (or put them in the dishwasher), wipe down counters, and make sure all items are put up. You do not want to wake up the next morning to a dirty kitchen.
Once everything is in order, move into your skincare routine. Skincare routines are personal to everyone, but I am here to give you some recommendations for my nightly essentials on nights-in:
Wash my face with Cerave Foaming Cleanser
Micellular water to remove eye makeup
Minoxidil 5% in my hairline
Scalp massage with my scalp scrubber (rub in the Minoxidil)
Put hair in a sleep safe style.
Go in with a retinol (Differen is the strongest OTC you can get so be careful)
Those are my holy grails. I am truly consistent with it and my skin and hair have never looked better.
10:30 PM - Cuddle Up With a Book
Climb into bed with soft lighting and a space that feels calm and put together. Grab a book and let yourself slow down. Let the noise of the day fade away and your body relax.
Now let me confess something. I recently purchased an overbed beside table, and I have ZERO regrets! I use it to keep my books, medicine, candle warmer, and lazy glasses (also a game changer). Just wanted to give you a few ideas if you really want to level up your cozy night in.
11:00 PM - Lights Out
Lights Out. Sweet dreams….preferably of someone who texts you back.
