Upgrading My Bathroom with Amazon & Chat GPT (Under $1000)
I am on the mission to upgrade every room of our house to create an elegant, lived-in space. I love the look of timeless, luxury design, but my budget is not on the high end. I’ve been slowly working through our house, trying to make each space feel more elevated, warm, and put together without spending a fortune. The bathroom has been one of those rooms that has good bones, but it still feels unfinished to me. It’s functional, but not beautiful yet.
This is what we are working with.
We have a lot of bare wall space, too much visual clutter on the counters, and not enough of the soft, rich details that make a bathroom feel expensive and warm. I love spaces that feel timeless, elegant, and spa-like, so my goal is to bring in better lighting, prettier mirrors, thoughtful storage, and a few decorative touches that make the room feel intentional.
I challenged myself to see how much I could upgrade this bathroom using mostly Amazon finds and keep the total under $1,000. I also used Chat GPT to help me visualize the layout and narrow down what would actually make the biggest difference before I started ordering things.
I wanted this bathroom to feel elegant, clean, and expensive. I tried to be intentional about what I wanted to add. I didn’t want to fill the room with random decor. I wanted pieces that would either solve a problem, add warmth, or make the space feel more finished. So off to Amazon I went to create my wish list.
Grand total of approximately $800. Underneath my $1,000 budget!
Mirrors
There were one of the first things I know I wanted to change. The existing mirors are fine, but they don’t add too much character. I felt gold ornate vanity mirrors would bring in a much richer look.
Wall Scones
The new sconces are slimmer and more elegant than what we have now. I love how they look classic yet modern.
Arched Floating Shelves
This is one of my favorite pieces because it gives me a place to add candles, rolled washcloths, and add a bit of greenery. It also solves the problem of the large bare wall.
Wall Art, Frame, and Display Light
The far wall also felt blank and awkward, so adding framed art with a picture light above it will make that area feel intentional instead of forgotten.
Crystal Chandelier
I definitely think this light ficture will provide a significant visual impact. Our current light is understated (and still wrapped in plastic). This is a much needed upgrade to elevating the look of the bathroom.
Shower Upgrades
I currently have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash sitting on the shower floor (ughh). I definitely needed to fix this with an elegant upgrade. Amber wall mounted dispensers will do the trick!
To add more ambience to the shower, I chose a shower lamp and dried eucalyptus leaves. Now taking a shower will feel more spa-like.
We currently don’t have any bath mats outside of our shower and tub. I’m always tossing them because they are constantly dirty and wet, so I opted for stone, fast-drying mats instead.
Small Touches
Greenery needed to be added for extra depth and texture. I decided to go with a dark vase of olive branches to add in another color dimension. The vase needed to be small enough to fit on a shelf or next to the tub faucet. I found the perfect one with this 6 inch ceramic vase.
I currently leave my jewelry laying on the counter with nowhere to store it. I needed an elegent “catch-all” dish and found the most perfect one with this gold clawfoot dish. It is so cute and rich-looking!
And lastly, we needed a shower hook. We are currently draping towels over the tub. I cannot tell you the number of times the towel has been knocked into the water during a bath. A hook would solve this problem and also be a space where I can keep my robe.
Once I had direction, I used Chat GPT to help me visualize how all these pieces might look in the actual room together, and I must say, I LOVE IT!
I’ll definitely share the final result once everything is in place, but for now this is the plan! What do you guys think?
