21 Cleaning Essentials for a Clean & Organized Home

I take cleaning VERY seriously, and over time I’ve figured out which products are actually worth having and which ones just take up space under the sink. So for this post, I separated everything into three categories: cleaning tools, cleaning products, and home organization essentials. These are my go-to items for keeping my home clean, fresh, and functional. These products make cleaning easier, help our house smell amazing, and keep everything looking more put together. They’re tried-and-true staples that are practical, effective, and absolutely worth having on hand. You will not regret buying these!

Shop the Essential Cleaning Tools

1) Dupray Neat

This whole-house steam cleaner is made for multi-surface cleaning. It’s essential for a sanitizing deep clean, especially if you want something that can handle bathroom grime, grout, kitchen grease, floors, and upholstery without needing five separate tools.

2) Cordless Electric Spin Scrubber

A hand-held electric spinner is great for when you need some elbow grease. This scrubber is powerful and can extend to hard to reach places. It’s especially helpful for tubs, shower walls, tile, and sinks, and other areas where grime builds up quickly.

3) Libman Rinse ‘N Wring Microfiber Mop with Bucket

Traditional mops makes me feel like I’m pushing dirty water around like a little floor goblin. This dual-chamber bucket prevents that! It can also be used on hardwood, walls, and baseboards.

4) Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Vacuum

This Shark vacuum has a Lift-Away mode for stairs and furniture, and has a HEPA/sealed system plus a brushroom shutoff for switching between carpet and hard floors. Great as a whole house vacuum with a “not-insane” price.

5) Crevice Cleaning Set

A set like this is essential for cleaning window tracks, sliding door grooves, sink edges, shower tracks, grout lines, corners, and around toilets/faucets. Specifically designed for those tight, gross little areas normal brushes miss.

6) Extendable Duster

This washable microfiber duster is better for long-term value compared to the disposable duster heads. The OXO extendable duster extends to 54 inches, and the head rotates 180 degrees and locks in place.

7) Extra Tools

Microfiber Towels

Microfiber towels are one of the most useful cleaning basics to keep on hand. No more wasting paper towels!

Amber Glass Spray Bottles

Amber glass spray bottles make your cleaning setup look much more polished while still being practical. They also come with labels!

Scrub Daddy Sponges

These are great for dishes! They scrub well without being too harsh.

Mr. Clearn Magic Erasers

Perfect for scuff marks on walls, baseboards, and doors.

Shop the Essential Cleaning Supplies

1) Method All-Purpose Cleaner - Sandalwood + Cedar

AMAZING smell and non-toxic! Love all products from Method! This scent is my favorite.

2) Method Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner

You don’t need to mix this with anything! It’s non-toxic and has a great subtle almond scent. It smells AMAZING! A little goes a long way. Your floors will be shiny and clean.

3) Method Antibacterial Toilet Bowl Cleaner

This stuff is hard to find! Great eco-friendly cleaner with an invigorating scent! Leaves your bathroom smelling so fresh! I did find a 6-pack deal on Amazon! The single bottle is always unavailable.

4) Method Glass Cleaner

Coming at you with ANOTHER Method cleaner. It’s because they are that good! Their glass cleaner is the best I could find. It once again has a great smell and does not leave behind streaks or residue.

5) Method Daily Wood Cleaner in Almond

Okay, I promise this is not sponsored. I truly love these products! The Method Wood Cleaner in almond is so great. Same scent as the floors. Method truly is the best in non-toxic cleaning supplies.

6) Detergent for Sheets & Towels

My go-tos for sheets and towels. The signature scent from the Laundress is divine! It is strong if you smell it out of the bottle, but once mixed in with the laundry, it’s perfect! For a little extra cleaning, I add in some unscented laundry sanitizer.

7) Laundry Detergent for Clothes

These are the three go-tos for clothes. The Gain Moonlight Breeze cannot be beat. There is a reason everyone raves about it. Then I go in with Downy Rinse in Cool Cotton. This is great to get the odor out of smelly clothes (I’m a boy mom - it’s essential). Now for the star of the show, Unstoppables N. 26 Scent Beads are HEAVENLY! My laundry literally smells the best with this trio!

Essentials for Home Organization

1) Under Sink Organizer

This under sink organizer is heaven sent. It pulls out for easy access! Definitely needed for keeping all cleaning supplies organized.

2) Drawer Organizers

Drawer organizers are a must to prevent your drawers from filling with random junk! I use the acrylic organizers in the bathrooms and the bamboo organizers in my kitchen.

3) Folding Board

A folding board is such an underrated item. I love the look of perfectly folded clothes in drawers. It can fold shirts, dresses, jeans, and towels. It can also be folded up for compact storage.

4) Rolling Cleaning Caddy

Call me crazy and extra, but I adore my rolling cleaning caddy. It’s nice to pack it up and roll it around the house with me from room to room. I have waaayyy too many cleaning supplies for those little plastic containers.

5) Pots & Pans Organizer

Stacking up pots and pans in your kitchen drawers makes it such a headache when you are looking for a particular pot. This pot & pan organizer is expandable so it can fit any drawer, and it makes everything so neat and visible. It also matches my drawer organizers, so that’s a plus!

6) Medicine Cabinet Organizer

The medicine cabinet is usually the most unorganized part of every house. I love this tiered medicine organizer! It’s portable and fits so many products!

7) Rolling Laundry Basket

I roll this thing around to gather dirty clothes from each room in the house. I have a bin for each person! It’s so convenient and sturdy.

That is literally everything I use to keep my house clean and organized! I hope you try some of these products. You won’t regret it!
