Billie Eilish Concert…New Orleans Fun

Look.. we are from Louisiana, we’re spoiled. We know what good food tastes like, we know what a real cocktail is, and we know how to do a night out. So when we did the Billie Eilish concert in New Orleans, we went where we knew the drinks are great and the vibe was even better.

We started by checking into Hotel Henrietta, a boutique hotel right off St. Charles - which is exactly where you want to be if you like walking past absurdly pretty houses and soaking up that classic New Orleans charm without the Bourbon Street chaos. The hotel also provides guests with a complimentary bottle of wine at check-in (love that for us). After getting dressed for the evening, we headed to The Chloe for pre-concert drinks and small plates. This is where the night officially turns into a while vibe. The Chloe is a restored 19th-century Uptown mansion turned into a 14-room boutique hotel with a bar/restaurant/patio/pool situation that is ridiculously beautiful. We went early evening, so it was more moody and relaxed, but I could only imagine what the outside pool is like on a Saturday afternoon. We drank Espresso Martinis and ordered the Twin Stack Burger to split. The drinks were strong, and the food was delicious.

After The Chloe, we headed to Smoothie King Center for Billie, and she was incredible. I just wish I could say the same about the people sitting next to us. We were packed in tight, and the woman next to me was aggressively rude about the smallest things. When my hair barely grazed her shoulder, she actually called it “disgusting”. Ma’am…we’re at a concert in New Orleans. It’s hot, it’s loud, and crowds come with the ticket. If you need a bubble of space, you’re in the wrong zip code. Anyway, Billie was so good, it didn’t even matter.

After the show, we did what any Louisiana woman would do….head to the bar. Barrel Proof on Magazine Street is the spot. It’s where the locals go. The drinks are genuinely great, the place is fun and crowded in the best way, and the bartender wasn’t hard to look at either (he added to the ambiance for sure). Directly across the street is St. Pizza, and the wait can be long, but it’s worth it. We put our names on the wait list and headed back to Barrel Proof for cocktails until our table was ready. Let me tell you, St. Pizza is to die for. The best pizza and the perfect end to the night. We headed back to Hotel Henrietta with full bellies, a good buzz, and zero regrets.

The next morning was not our finest hour. We woke up hungover and humbled. Fully reminded that this is what your late 30s feels like. We needed food and a Bloody Marty pronto. So we headed to N7, a French-inspired little spot that feels like a hidden gem in New Orleans. The outdoor area is the star, so if weather permits, I highly recommend sitting outside. It’s a lush garden area that is genuinely breathtaking. We ordered the mussels, and I’m not even being dramatic when I say the broth these mussels come in is absolute perfection. Go ahead and ask for a spoon and extra bread to soak it all up. After brunch, it was time to head home. Our weekend had come to an end. On the way home, we were already planning another trip back because there are a few places from this trip that deserve a repeat. So if you find yourself in New Orleans, save this lineup - you won’t be disappointed.
